About SOF

Who We Are

The South Asian Obesity Forum (SOF) has developed as a group of like-minded professionals from endocrinology and allied specialties. The forum builds upon the exemplary collaboration between the endocrine fraternities of the various South Asian countries, over the past decade. SOF complements these activities, including those of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES), by focusing on obesity care. This focus is important, as the pandemic of obesity continues to grow. The public health and clinical challenges posed by obesity need focused attention, and determined action. SOF seeks to provide a platform for continual, concerted, and constructive collaboration, so that the health impact of obesity can be minimized.
